I came across a poem called In the Park by John Koethe and I thought that the first few words would provide us with a perfect prompt for this week's challenge.
This is the life I wanted, and I could never see

May I thank you most sincerely for joining me at Carry On Tuesday each week. I'm constantly staggered by the way in which the prompts get interpreted in such diverse ways. We are I suppose a relatively small bunch by comparison with other prompt sites, but I like to think that we are the creme de la creme when it comes to creative writing! Keep up the good work brothers and sisters!!!
ReplyDeleteAye,Aye sir. :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, everyone! Thank you for the prompt :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, melancholic poem that this prompt came from - it was quite intimidating to write to ... but also very nice ... plus it was one I could combine with Poetic Bloomings prompt this go round so that was a bonus My poem's at THE WAY EYE SEE IT at this url http://aleapingelephant.blogspot.com/2012/02/older-now-and-yes-this-is-life-i-wanted.html
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that I was able to participate this week. I love the prompt!
ReplyDeleteI wrote a poem yesterday which exactly fits this prompt.Someone is reading my mind:)
